MidDevon Digital builds loyalty and rewards apps for cafes, coffee shops, pubs, shops, salons and other small businesses in Devon and across the UK. A digital loyalty card on your own app, with stamps or points, rewards, members' offers and push notifications that bring people back, and a simple admin screen that shows you who your regulars are. No per-customer fee. Fixed quote, and the app is yours.
A loyalty card that lives on the phone, not in a drawer

What a loyalty app does that a paper card never could
A loyalty app is a digital loyalty card on the customer's phone: stamps or points collected with each purchase, a reward when they reach a threshold, and offers sent by notification. Unlike a card in a drawer, it can't be lost, it tells you who your regulars are, and it can reach them on a quiet afternoon.
Paper stamp cards work until they're lost, which is most of them. The off-the-shelf loyalty apps work too, charged per customer or per month, with your scheme sitting inside somebody else's app next to the cafe down the road. Your own loyalty app is yours alone: your branding, your rules, your customers, and no bill that climbs as the scheme succeeds.
Stamps, points, or both
A stamp per coffee, points per pound, a free one on the tenth, double points on a Monday. Your rules, set in the content management system, changed whenever you like.
Scanned at the counter in a second
The customer shows a code, staff scan it from a phone or tablet, the stamp lands. Or the customer scans a code at the till. No extra hardware, no slowing the queue.
Offers pushed to the phone
A quiet Wednesday, a new product, a birthday reward. A notification goes to everyone, or to the people who haven't been in for a month, sent by you in two minutes.
Know your regulars
Who comes most, who's stopped coming, what the average spend is, which offer worked. The content management system shows you, and you decide what to do with it.

Who a loyalty app is for
Any business where the same faces come back, and where you'd like more of them to.
Cafes and coffee shops
The classic stamp card, on the phone, with order-ahead if you want it. The tenth coffee is still free; now you know who drank the other nine.
Pubs, bars and restaurants
Points on food and drink, a members' night, a reward for bringing friends. Notifications for the quiz, the special and the Sunday roast.
Independent shops and farm shops
Points per pound, early access to new stock, members' prices on a Tuesday. A reason to choose you over the supermarket on the way home.
Salons, barbers and gyms
A reward every sixth visit, a referral bonus, a birthday treat. Pairs with a booking app so the loyalty and the diary are one thing.
What a
loyalty app can include
Built around how your customers buy, so this is a starting point rather than a feature sheet.
Digital loyalty card
Stamps or points, collected by scan at the counter or at the till. Rewards at thresholds you set.
Push notifications and offers
Sent to everyone, to a group, or to people who haven't visited in a while. Scheduled or on the spot.
Members' pricing and perks
Members-only prices, early access, a members' night, a referral reward. Membership tiers if you want them.
Customer insight
Visits, spend, last seen, which offers worked. Simple enough to act on, not a dashboard nobody opens.
Gift cards and vouchers
Sold in the app, sent to a friend, redeemed at the counter with a scan.
Order ahead or booking
Add ordering or booking later and the loyalty scheme already works with it. Many loyalty apps grow into both.

Demo app
Try the demo loyalty app on your own phone
We've built a working cafe loyalty app so you can see how the stamp card, the counter scan, the rewards and the notifications work before you commit to anything. Book a call and we'll put it on your phone, collect a stamp together, and talk through what yours would need that's different.
How a loyalty app gets built
Four stages, a fixed price, and a working version on your own phone well before launch.
Step 1
Discovery
A conversation about your customers, how you reward them today, what you'd like them to do more of, and how the counter runs at the busy times. Your spec is what the app is designed around. At your place or on Zoom.
Step 2
Design and fixed quote
Every screen designed in your branding before any code is written, with a written scope, a fixed price and a realistic timeline.
Step 3
Build and test
iOS and Android built together, with a test version on your phone as each part is ready. Your staff scan test cards at the counter and you send a test notification before any customer sees it.
Step 4
Launch and look after
We handle the App Store and Google Play submissions and go live. Then hosting, the content management system, updates, re-submissions and support run on a monthly plan, with new features quoted as you want them.
What clients say
We have always found Peter to be responsive to our requirements, and this has delivered an efficient solution to the daily functions of our growing business. We believe that the process we undertook with Peter has resulted in a far superior solution to purchasing an off-the-shelf system.
Phillip Voss, Elite Cleaning, Devon
Peter at MidDevon Digital has been absolutely amazing. His patience with my lack of technology is sound and I love the work he has done on our website. I would have no hesitation recommending him.

How much does a loyalty app cost?
It depends on whether it's a straightforward stamp card or a points scheme with tiers, offers and gift cards, and whether you want ordering or booking alongside it. You get a fixed quote in writing after a free discovery call. Against a subscription loyalty platform charged per customer or per month, the app is a one-off cost plus a flat monthly plan that doesn't rise as the scheme grows.
Is a digital loyalty card better than a paper one?
For the customer it can't be lost and it's always in their pocket. For you it's the difference between a scheme you can't measure and one that tells you who your regulars are, who's stopped coming, and which offers worked, and it gives you a way to reach them. Most businesses see more stamps collected simply because the card is always there.
Does it need special hardware at the counter?
No. Staff scan the customer's code from a phone or tablet you already have, or the customer scans a printed code at the till. The app is standalone, so nothing has to plug into your till; the scan is the whole process.
Can I send offers to customers?
Yes. Push notifications go to everyone, to a group, or to people who haven't been in for a while, That's the main thing a loyalty app does that a paper card can't. Offers, rewards and the rules of the scheme are content changes too, so they go live straight away; only changes to the app itself, like a new section, need a new version published, which we handle under the plan.
Can I see who my regulars are?
Yes. The content management system shows visits, spend, last visit and which offers worked, at the level that's useful to a small business rather than a marketing department. Customer data belongs to your business.
Can I add ordering or booking later?
Yes. The loyalty scheme is built so that order-ahead, takeaway ordering or appointment booking can be added to the same app, with the stamps and points carrying across. Many loyalty apps grow into both.
Will customers download a loyalty app?
Yes, if the reward is real and the sign is at the counter. A free coffee for downloading, a QR code on the counter and the staff mentioning it get most regulars on in the first month. From then on the notifications do the work.
